In Hand Guides (IHG), an innovative Irish start-up based in Cork who design low cost embedded audio players, and AudioConexus of Toronto Canada this week announced a major alliance.  Under the terms of the deal In Hand Guides will design and supply branded bespoke audio devices for the clients of AudioConexus across North America and in certain export countries outside the USA. The deal is worth a minimum 1.2m usd over 2011/2012 to IHG.

AudioConexus is a leading Media and GPS Tour Entertainment company, specializing in the design, development and delivery of portable, wireless and hard wired single language and multilingual GPS tour systems for boats, buses, trolleys, trains, and trams. These systems facilitate automated, (GPS triggered) sightseeing experiences in multiple languages and topics simultaneously. In Hand Guides audioplayers compliment AudioConexus current range and open up major sales opportunities for AudioConexus.

AudioConexus provides design and content development services to the tourism industry and are experts at providing visitors with the most meaningful, accessible and entertaining audio tour experiences possible. Their main market is sightseeing companies, historical sites, museums and attractions of all sizes.

The agreement builds on IHG groundbreaking agreement announced in Nov 2010 with Twin America of New York IHG. Trevor Winckworth, CEO and founder of IHG, said today ‘In Hand Guides are delighted to announce this alliance, as I believe AudioConexus are a perfect fit for our sales development into the Tourism markets of North America. The alliance represents two ‘young and innovative’ companies working together to provide memorable visitor experiences.”

“With this partnership, InHand Guides provides a natural extension of the multilingual sightseeing experiences we provide on coaches, tour boats, trolleys, trains and destination walking tours. Now, travelers can step off buses and boats as their tour experience continues - on foot - as they are immersed in audio tour experiences about a destination's local history and culture. Introducing this new product enhances the tourism experience by helping people discover and access information traditionally provided by tour guides in a more self directed experience," said Jonathan Stanley, President & CEO of AudioConexus Inc. "Many people prefer self directed tour experiences, without the aid of a guide, so they can control the pace and depth of their experience. Our partnership breaks down cost, language and cultural barriers and provides our customers with the opportunity to deliver compelling stories using a low cost device.”
