We're big fans of marketing guru Seth Godin. Reading his books such as Unleashing the Ideavirus, Purple Cow, Free Prize Inside and All Marketers Are Liars Tell Stories have been rewarding reads. But reading Seth by the dim light of a LED book light is destined to become a favorite pastime.

In a recent interview with Jeff Rivera for a Mediabistro featureGodin shares that he's through with publishing books because of the long process and the challenges of spreading ideas through traditional media.

After writing 12 books Godin said "While I'm not sure what format my writing will take, I'm not planning on it being the 1907 version of hardcover publishing any longer."

So what is Godin really saying about traditional media and the state of book publishing today? With online publishing, ebooks, blogs, iPads and the Amazon Kindle are books still a legitimate channel for sharing ideas?
