Shearwater River Cruises in Saskatoon provides passengers with fun and entertaining experiences on its sightseeing cruises in the breathtaking South Saskatchewan River valley.

A family owned business, Shearwater River Cruises roots began in 1989 when Peter and Valerie Kingsmill started offering boat tours for bird watchers at Redberry Lake. Since that time, the tourism business has evolved into a sightseeing company for people of all ages - offering daily scheduled tours, dinner cruises and special events.

This year, Shearwater River Cruises revamped its tours by offering GPS triggered commentary, delivered over their Public Address Systems. These new tours offer passengers a variety of stories that highlight key points of interest along the river, including the University of Saskatchewan campus, Saskatoon's “castle on the river”, the Delta Bessborough Hotel, The Meewasin Valley Centre and many of its bridges (Saskatoon has been widely known as the City of Bridges).

Peter Kingsmill, Manager of Operations said, "Our staff is such an important aspect of our tours and we wanted to provide everyone who visits with us a personal and interactive experience. By providing GPS tour commentary on the river, we've been able to share our history and our stories so that everyone gets the same great experience. The system runs flawlessly and guests (and staff!) really like it!"

Tours will leave the dock four times each day between May Long Weekend and Labour Day. For more information please visit Shearwater Tours website.
